General rules:
-Don't swear. The occasional outburst is allowed, but don't take it
too far.
-Don't insult people. If you have a problem with someone please try to
work it out calmly, rather then calling him names
-Don't fight. Arguments and discussions are allowed, fights are
stupid. Everyone's entitled to his or her opinion
Manual Trivia
rules:
This is the trivia game that started Simpson Trivia, but it is only rarely
played these days, which is unfortunate, but hey. Anyways, here are
the rules:
-One person asks a question
-The one who gets it right first gets to ask the next question
-Please some intelligent and original questions (2 questions that have been
asked entirely too often are "What's Homer's middle name?" and "What's Apu's
last name").
-Don't cut your turn
-The person who asked the question is the only judge on whether or not the
answer given is correctly, don't dispute their decision please.
-If you don't have a question to ask, please state who is allowed to ask a
question in your turn
-Don't cheat. It's just no fun.
-If the answer wasn't given, the person asking the question should first
give a few hints, but then ultimately ask the next question
Bot Trivia
rules:
After a while, when people in the chatroom figured out how to do it, a
program was introduced which asked questions. It has some up and down
sides to it. The up side is you don't have to wait a long time before
the next question is asked and you can play on your own, the down side is it
leaves less room for normal conversation and spelling does matter.
Some prefer this to Manual Trivia, others prefer the Manual game...it's all
a question of preference really. There are some rules to keep in mind
though.
-Don't start the trivia in the middle of a conversation, unless everyone is
OK with it
-Don't stop the trivia unless everyone who's playing is OK with it
-If you see a wrong answer or spelling mistake, please let us know and we
will correct it
-You can add questions, but then make sure you have the right answer to
provide along with the question
